Eye Infections

Rabbits with sinus infections will commonly obtain eye infections. Eye infections are particularly dangerous because they can actually spread into the brain of the rabbit. This is because the rabbits eyes are directly connected to the brain by a series of nerves.

Antibiotics are generally the only treatment that will cure eye infections as topical creams are not suited for eye applications. Obviously any need for antibiotics will require veterinarian assitance. Take your rabbit to the veterinarian as soon as possible to ensure the infection does not get any worse.
