The Brush rabbit can only be found
on the west-coast of North America. As its name
implies it lives in thick brush or grassland areas.
Most rabbits dig their own burrow in which they
live in, however the brush rabbit inhabits the
burrow that another animal has dug and abandoned.
The Brush rabbit is the smallest cottontail rabbit
in North America. However, it differs in one noticeable
way from other cottontails, the bottom of its
tail is not white but rather gray. Cottontail
rabbits are noted for having all white tails which
is likely the reason it is called the Brush Rabbit
and not the Brush Cottontail. |
