The Bushman Rabbit is an extremely
rare species. It is only found in parts of a single
province within the country of South Africa. It
belongs to the genus Bunolagus and is
the only member of it. Over the years its range
and numbers have shrunk significantly which has
caused it to be listed on the endangered species
list.
Their appearance is somewhat unique compared
to other rabbits found in the same area. Their
hind feet are very large with respect to their
overall body size. There is a line of black fur
that runs from their mouth around the side of
their head. The fur that is on its chest and the
bottom part of their head is more of a beige color
as opposed to white.
