The European Rabbit can be found
throughout southern Europe. Its numbers are declining
due mainly to destruction of their natural habitat
and over hunting. To retain this species efforts
have been made to introduce them to many other
places throughout the world with varying degrees
of success.
The European Rabbit is certainly one of the more
common rabbits found as household pets. They are
relatively easy to train even to the point where
they can be left to roam free throughout a house
just like a cat or dog. They can also be trained
to use a litter box which furthers their appeal
as pets. |
